Success I have now repaired the lawnmower pictured first start it clattered slightly and I was thinking that it wasnt any good and that I had wasted my money on a new pull start assembly, but after a couple of tries it seems fine although it "hunts" a bit I will have to adjust the revs and get it revving slightly higher this particular machine has no throttle or speed control so I will have to adjust the carburettor..
